Criss Cross refused to let up against a determined UST-Gameville side, rolling to a 25-22, 25-15, 25-21 win on Friday, November 14, at the Paco Arena in Manila. The King Crunchers preserved their perfect run in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference and maintained their momentum heading into the semifinals. Jude Garcia, Jaron Requinton, and Adrian Villados spearheaded the attack, showcasing the team’s composure and firepower.
Middle blocker Poy Colinares contributed 10 points, including four critical blocks, reinforcing that no opponent would be underestimated. Criss Cross had already been tested in a five-set victory over FEU-DN Steel and closely monitored other collegiate teams’ performances, underlining the tournament’s competitiveness.

The first set remained tight until Criss Cross pulled away from a 19-all tie with clutch plays from Garcia, Requinton, and Villados to secure a 25-22 frame. The second set was a statement, as a 17-5 run put UST-Gameville out of reach and demonstrated Criss Cross’ championship-level execution.
Set three proved more contested, but Criss Cross’ experience and steady performance sealed the sweep. Garcia, a three-time league MVP, finished with 19 points, 15 attacks, two blocks, and two aces, while Requinton and Noel Kampton each added eight points to close the match in one hour and 18 minutes.
UST-Gameville battles but falls short
The Golden Spikers’ three-game winning streak ended, leaving them at 4-2, tied with Savouge and Cignal in the semifinals race. Al-Bukharie Sali led UST-Gameville with 12 points, while top gunner Josh Ybañez was limited to seven due to Criss Cross’ disciplined defense.
Criss Cross will face Alpha Insurance Protectors on Sunday, aiming for a sweep of the eliminations and momentum heading into the semifinals. UST-Gameville will try to secure its semifinals berth when it faces FEU-DN Steel at 5 p.m. the same day.
