NLEX returned to the win column with a 105-91 victory over Rain or Shine on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Ynares Center in Antipolo, improving to 5-2 in the PBA Philippine Cup and tying their rivals in the standings.
Robert Bolick delivered a commanding performance with 28 points, six rebounds and five assists in a strong bounce-back showing after a rough outing in their previous loss to Barangay Ginebra.
Bolick said he simply wanted to respond.
“I just did my best. I’m thankful we got the win,” said Bolick. “It’s been a while since I won Best Player so I’m happy.”

Third-quarter burst breaks game open
NLEX blew the game wide open early in the third period with a 10-0 run that stretched their lead to 62-47 and shifted full control to the Road Warriors.
With Rain or Shine missing Keith Datu due to a season-ending injury, NLEX dominated the interior with a 56-34 scoring edge in the paint.
JB Bahio posted 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Xyrus Torres added 15.
Jonnel Policarpio and Dominic Fajardo chipped in 10 apiece.
NLEX also shot 49.4 percent while holding Rain or Shine to 38.6 percent from the floor.
Uichico praises effort on both ends
Coach Jong Uichico said the key was executing on both ends and refusing to rely solely on defense.
“We played decent defense but we also needed to score,” Uichico said. “Berto led the charge on offense and on defense. This was a team effort.”
The Road Warriors controlled momentum throughout the second half and never allowed Rain or Shine to mount a serious rally.
