Tom McKibbin kept his wire-to-wire hopes alive at the Link Hong Kong Open, holding a one-shot advantage after a battling third round at Hong Kong Golf Club. The Northern Irishman entered Saturday with a two-shot cushion after a record 60 and a bogey-free 65, and a second straight 65 pushed him to 20-under with one round left.

American MJ Maguire produced the day’s standout charge, firing a nine-under 61 to reach 19-under, while Peter Uihlein sits one shot further back after a 65. McKibbin briefly lost his bogey-free streak on the third but quickly recovered with birdies on four and five. He added circles on six, nine and 12, and despite a bogey on 15, closed strong with birdies on 16 and 17 to stay in front.

Maguire erupts with eagle-fueled surge

Maguire turned a solid start into a title push with a blistering run on the back nine. After two front-side birdies, he erupted with three birdies and a hole-out eagle from 10 through 13, then closed with birdies on the last two holes. The former Black Mountain Championship winner now looms large as McKibbin’s biggest threat heading into championship Sunday.

Uihlein, coming off a late triple bogey in round two, again mixed brilliance with miscues but stayed firmly in the hunt at 18-under. He traded birdies and bogeys late but will enter the final day two shots back with The Open and Masters berths on the line for the champion.

Hend, Kiradech stay close as stars chase LIV pathway

Veteran Scott Hend rolled back the clock with a bogey-free 64 to reach 17-under, tied with Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat, who posted a 66 highlighted by an eagle after shaking off a tough opening stretch. Both remain poised to challenge if the leaders slip.
