Precision, defense, and teamwork fuel victory
From the first set, ZUS Coffee displayed poise and determination, turning tight rallies in their favor through quick transitions and smart decision-making. Mondonedo’s strategic sets kept Petro Gazz guessing, while Alyssa Eroa anchored the defense with 12 excellent digs and 12 receptions, neutralizing the Angels’ offensive threats.
The Thunderbelles’ cohesion extended into the second and third sets, where they built mid-set leads with balanced scoring from Miner, DeBeer, Gonzaga, Riza Nogales, Fiola Ceballos, and Thea Gagate. Each rotation showcased the team’s chemistry and depth, with bench contributions reinforcing the starting lineup’s consistency.
The win followed a four-set upset over the Cool Smashers and prior victories over EV Crossovers and Galeries Tower Highrisers. ZUS Coffee now looks to complete the first round undefeated when they face the Akari Chargers on Nov. 4 at the MOA Arena.
