Facing Sri Lanka’s Binul Dulnada Dewasiri Narayana, Lobrido overcame tense moments in the closing seconds of the third round to secure victory. His win guarantees him at least a bronze medal for the Philippines, further cementing the country’s strong presence in the competition.

Philippines athletes continue strong showing
While Lobrido was the day’s standout in boxing, other Filipino athletes also made their mark. Princess Jay Ann Diaz captured bronze in the girls’ 44-kg clean and jerk, lifting 78 kg to earn her place on the podium. Jay-r Colonia claimed bronze in the boys’ 56-kg clean and jerk with a lift of 137 kg.

Despite the strong results, Shairylle Pores bowed out at the quarterfinal stage, losing 5-0 to Chen Fang-yu of Chinese Taipei in the girls’ 46-kg boxing category.
