Italy’s Manuel Alfieri and Alex Ranghieri and Australia’s Stefanie Fejes and Jasmine Fleming each earned bronze medals in separate categories at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge, held at Nuvali Sands Court by Ayala Land in Santa Rosa, Laguna, on Sunday, October 19.
Alfieri and Ranghieri, ranked world No. 48, overcame Austria’s Christoph Dressler and Philip Waller, the world No. 28 pair, in a tightly contested men’s match, 17-21, 21-18, 15-12, to secure their podium finish.
Meanwhile, Fejes and Fleming, sitting at world No. 58, rallied from a slow start to defeat Czechia’s Kylie Neuschaeferova and Martina Maixnerova, ranked No. 45, 13-21, 21-15, 15-13, in the women’s division. The Italians tallied 41 points, with Alfieri contributing 19 kills, while the Australian pair scored 40 points, highlighted by Fejes’ 19 kills.
Men’s and women’s semifinals
Earlier on Sunday, the British twins Joaquin and Javier Bello reached the men’s final after a 11-21, 21-19, 15-11 semifinal victory over Alfieri and Ranghieri. They were set to face Spain’s Alejandro Huerta and Adrian Gavira, who advanced by defeating Austria’s Dressler and Waller, 22-20, 18-21, 16-14.

In the women’s bracket, Finland’s Anniina Parkkinen and Valma Prihti relied on strong blocking to beat Czechia’s Neuschaeferova and Maixnerova, 21-19, 18-21, 15-10, earning a place in the final. They were joined by Lithuania’s Leva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite, who overcame Australia’s Fejes and Fleming, 21-18, 21-18, in the semifinals.
