BRAVE Combat Federation (BRAVE CF), the world’s fastest-growing mixed martial arts organization, made history in Georgia. It staged BRAVE CF: Georgia vs. the World, its first premium live event in the country, at the Tbilisi New Sports Palace.
The promotion worked with Georgian Fighting Championship (GFC) to deliver a landmark night. It served as the highlight of the fifth BRAVE International Combat Week. Fans witnessed nine exciting fights between Georgian stars and international athletes. A BRAVE CF World Championship bout topped the card, capping off an action-packed evening.
Tutarauli wins interim title in front of home crowd
In the main event, Rauli Tutarauli gave Georgia a historic moment. He defeated Dutch veteran Pieter “The Archangel” Buist to claim the BRAVE CF Interim Lightweight World Title.
Tutarauli took control early. He used his strong wrestling and ground game to limit Buist’s striking. In the second round, he came close to finishing with a deep arm-triangle choke.
He kept the pressure on in the championship rounds. After five hard-fought frames, he earned a unanimous decision. Tutarauli became the first Georgian to win BRAVE CF gold. He now sets his sights on a unification bout against reigning champion Abdisalam Uul “Omok” Kubanychbek.
In the co-main event, Lasha Abramishvili delivered the biggest win of his BRAVE CF career. The hometown favorite knocked down Khurshed Nazarov with a clean right hand. He followed up with hammerfists, forcing the stoppage at 4:59 of the first round.
