The Mandiri Indonesia Open 2025 tees off this Thursday at Pondok Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, marking the ninth leg of the Asian Tour season. Defending champion Steve Lewton of England returns to defend his title in a tournament that promises intense competition. The field also features top players like Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond, Australia’s Ryan Peake, and Hong Kong’s Taichi Kho, ensuring an exciting start to the second half of the season.
The 41st edition of the event will have 150 participants competing over four rounds of 18 holes, with a cut after 36 holes for the top 65 professionals and ties. With a total purse of US$500,000, the winner will take home US$90,000, offering strong incentives for the leading contenders.
Star-studded field ready for action
Defending champion Lewton has struggled for consistency this season but showed signs of form with a T5 at a recent Asian Development Tour event in Indonesia. His two-time Asian Tour wins, including last year’s triumph at Pondok Indah, could give him the confidence to perform well again.
Thailand’s Danthai Boonma leads the field on the 2025 Asian Tour Order of Merit in sixth place. Boonma has recorded multiple top finishes this year, including a runner-up at the International Series Morocco and a win at the All Thailand Tour Singha Championship. Fellow Thai Poom Saksansin also poses a threat with strong finishes at the Smart Infinity Philippine Open and Kolon Korea Open.
Australian Ryan Peake, winner of the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport, seeks to regain momentum after a challenging start to his Asian Tour campaign. Kevin Yuan of Australia has enjoyed a consistent season, highlighted by top-10 finishes across Asia, while Hong Kong’s Taichi Kho looks ready for his second Asian Tour win after solid performances throughout 2025. Seven-time Asian Tour winner Jazz Janewattananond returns after a T2 at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open and T8 at the International Series Macau.
