The San Miguel Beermen returned to the PBA mountaintop following a 107-96 victory over TNT Tropang 5G in Game 6 of the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup Finals Friday night, July 25, at the PhilSports Arena. The win not only secured a 4-2 series triumph but also derailed TNT’s hopes of completing a rare Grand Slam.

June Mar Fajardo led the charge with a near-perfect performance, pouring in 24 points on 11-of-12 shooting while adding 12 rebounds and three assists. CJ Perez also scored 24, and the bench unit delivered timely contributions with Jericho Cruz scoring 13 and Don Trollano adding 12.
Mo Tautuaa chipped in 10, while veterans Chris Ross and Marcio Lassiter played crucial roles, combining for 16 points and offering steady leadership during crunch time. Cruz’s consistent efforts throughout the series earned him the Finals MVP, finishing with averages of 13.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
Beermen crush TNT’s Grand Slam dreams
San Miguel’s latest title marks their 30th overall championship, reinforcing their dynasty status. More importantly, it served as redemption after missing the playoffs in Season 49, following their Commissioner’s Cup win in early 2024.
“Matagal kaming hindi nag-champion kaya thankful kami nakuha namin itong championship,” said Fajardo, expressing gratitude for the breakthrough after a stretch of heartbreaks.
The Beermen spoiled TNT’s pursuit of a Grand Slam, as the Tropang 5G had previously won the Governors’ Cup and Commissioner’s Cup. Calvin Oftana scored 19 and veteran Kelly Williams added 17 for TNT, who dealt with key injuries throughout the finals series.
With this victory, the Beermen have once again cemented their legacy in PBA history while silencing doubters and proving they still belong at the top.
