The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced a groundbreaking multi-year partnership with Sporty Group to launch and grow PFL Africa. The strategic collaboration aims to tap into the fast-growing and youthful African market by combining the PFL’s elite MMA platform with Sporty Group’s expansive media and digital ecosystem.
Sporty Group will enhance PFL Africa’s presence using its suite of consumer brands. SportyTV, a leading free-to-air broadcaster, will be the primary platform for distributing PFL content across major African nations such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. Coverage will include the PFL World Tournament, PFL Champions Series, and PFL’s international leagues like PFL Europe, PFL MENA, and PFL Africa itself. All content will also stream on Sporty’s mobile app and YouTube, vastly expanding access.

Sporty Studios will add depth to PFL’s storytelling, producing high-quality features and behind-the-scenes footage that capture the journey of African fighters. Meanwhile, Sporty.com will offer news coverage and real-time results to MMA fans, keeping them informed and engaged.
SportyBet joins as the official betting sponsor of PFL Africa, launching an integrated campaign with real-time odds, branded content, and exclusive activations beginning with the league’s inaugural event in Cape Town on July 19. This multi-platform presence ensures fans are immersed in every aspect of the PFL experience.
“This is more than a sponsorship or distribution announcement, it’s a strategic alliance between two organizations with a shared vision for unlocking the massive potential of MMA across Africa,” said Elias Schulze, General Manager of PFL Africa.
Elias Gallego, Vice President of Business Development at Sporty Group, added, “Seeing the PFL’s fast growth and commitment to Africa, one of our core markets, we knew we had found a partner to offer MMA on the continent in a big way.”
PFL Africa will feature 32 fighters representing 15 nations across four weight classes, with events kicking off in Cape Town on July 19 and continuing in Johannesburg on August 9. The league will serve as a gateway for regional champions to move into the PFL’s global competitive structure.
