The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has entered the fantasy sports arena through a new partnership with Daily Fantasy, the country’s first officially licensed fantasy sports provider. This collaboration brings fans closer to the action with a dynamic new way to engage with the league through PBA fantasy basketball.

This groundbreaking platform allows users to join fantasy contests based on real PBA matchups. Participants can build their own eight-player lineups, selecting from PBA stars like Jaymar Perez and June Mar Fajardo of the San Miguel Beermen or Jordan Heading, Roger Pogoy, and Calvin Oftana of TNT Tropang Giga. Teams are scored based on real-time performance, with statistics provided by official PBA data for maximum transparency and competitiveness.

Interactive experience during the PBA Philippine Cup Finals

To mark the launch, fantasy contests are currently themed around the ongoing PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Finals. Fans of both San Miguel Beermen and TNT Tropang Giga can compete against each other by strategically selecting players and battling for leaderboard supremacy.

The fantasy basketball initiative adds a fresh level of interaction to the league, encouraging fans to immerse themselves not only as spectators but also as team strategists. With up to PHP 500,000 worth of prizes in play, the platform creates a rewarding way for fans to engage with every possession, rebound, and basket.

PBA and Daily Fantasy highlight fan-first innovation

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial expressed enthusiasm about the venture, calling it a “new and exciting chapter” for the league. “We’re always looking for ways to bring our fans closer to the game,” Marcial said. “By introducing fantasy play into real matchups, we’re adding another layer of entertainment that deepens the connection between our players and supporters.”

Ann Jane de Leon, Assistant Marketing Manager at Daily Fantasy, added, “Our goal has always been to create meaningful ways for fans to connect with the game. This partnership empowers the love Filipinos have for basketball in a more interactive and rewarding way.”
