Fitness and perseverance were front and center at the Vermosa Green Run 2025, where over 2,500 runners braved the rain to take part in one of Cavite’s most beloved athletic events. Held on Sunday, June 29, at the expansive Vermosa Estates in Imus, the fourth edition of the event highlighted the strength of the Philippine running community, undeterred by lightning and showers.

The run continues to gain momentum since its 2022 debut, drawing not only elite athletes but also weekend joggers, fitness families, and health-conscious individuals to race distances including 21K, 10K, 5K, and 3K. The 1K Dog Run added a lighthearted twist, allowing runners to hit the pavement with their furry training partners.

Running culture in full stride

For many, the Green Run is more than a race—it’s a lifestyle checkpoint. Angel Montevirgen, a local runner and member of Takbo Kabitenyo, described it best: “It’s not just about crossing the finish line. It’s about pushing yourself, celebrating movement, and sharing the road with like-minded people.”

Organizer Pinoy Fitness, led by founder Jeff Lo, was thrilled by the enthusiastic turnout despite the weather. “Runners actually enjoy the rain—it cools them down and adds excitement,” Lo said. “The roads at Vermosa are safe and smooth, so you can go all out.”

Beyond competition, Vermosa’s inviting environment keeps athletes coming back. Whether training alone or joining organized runs, the estate’s open access and scenic routes have made it a destination for fitness lovers all year round.

Wellness and purpose in motion

While fitness was the star, the event remained grounded in advocacy. Participants supported Haribon Foundation, Pawssion Project, and Takbo Kabitenyo, groups that align with the run’s mission of wellness for self, community, and the environment.

Used plastic collection bins were stationed during registration, giving runners an easy way to contribute to sustainable projects. These plastics will be upcycled into eco-benches and pathways, reinforcing Vermosa’s green vision.

Chrissy Roa, Ayala Land Estates’ Marketing and Communications head, emphasized this connection: “The Green Run blends fitness, wellness, and impact. Every step you take fuels a larger mission.”

Vermosa Green Run 2025 once again proved that fitness isn’t just about training or medals—it’s about momentum, motivation, and showing up no matter what the skies bring.
