BRAVE CF 94 Co-Main Event: Damien Lapilus vs. Victor Hugo Promises Fireworks in Geneva

BRAVE CF 94’s co-main event is everything a fight fan could want: experience vs danger, technique vs ferocity, veteran grit vs surging momentum. On May 17 at the Arena de Genève in Switzerland, the spotlight will shine on Damien “The Walking Dead” Lapilus and Victor Hugo, two elite featherweights whose collision could produce one of 2025’s most talked-about finishes.

Damien Lapilus: The Veteran with Vengeance

Sporting a professional record of 18-17-2, Damien Lapilus may not boast a pristine win column, but what he lacks in numbers, he more than compensates for with heart, experience, and technical savvy. Trained out of MMA Factory Paris, Lapilus is a former BAMMA champion with over a decade of cage wars across Europe. At 34, he is still as dangerous and unpredictable as ever.

Lapilus holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has notched eight submission victories, proving he’s no slouch on the mat. Combine that with his clean boxing fundamentals and relentless cardio, and you’ve got a man who’s as comfortable standing and trading as he is rolling on the canvas.

“This fight is a reminder,” said Lapilus ahead of BRAVE CF 94. “I’ve gone to war with the best. This is about showing that veterans can still dominate.”

Victor Hugo: Brazil’s Submission Machine Arrives

Standing across from Lapilus will be the Brazilian phenom Victor Hugo, making his much-anticipated BRAVE CF debut. Hugo arrives with a 25-5-0 record and a reputation as one of the most dangerous submission artists in the sport today.

A fourth-degree BJJ black belt under the legendary Ribeiro brothers, Hugo has claimed multiple IBJJF world titles and has made a seamless transition to MMA. 17 of his 25 wins have come via submission, showcasing an arsenal that includes heel hooks, brabo chokes, arm triangles, and more.

“I’m a showman,” said Hugo from his training camp in Brazil. “I’m going to finish him.”

Fresh off a contract-winning performance on Dana White’s Contender Series, Hugo is looking to dominate BRAVE CF’s featherweight division. With striking honed by his kickboxing father and world-class grappling in his DNA, the 29-year-old has the tools to shake up the entire promotion.

High Stakes, High Expectations

While Lapilus brings the war-tested durability of a seasoned veteran, Hugo brings the fearsome energy of a man on a mission. Their contrasting styles—Lapilus’ all-around toughness vs Hugo’s elite submission wizardry—make this matchup one of the most unpredictable and potentially explosive co-main events BRAVE CF has staged in years.

Will Lapilus weather the storm and grind out another victory, or will Victor Hugo claim yet another limb for his highlight reel?
