Veteran spiker Myla Pablo continues to turn back the clock — and the Premier Volleyball League took notice.
The Petro Gazz star was named the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of April 1 to 3, after backstopping the Angels to a Finals berth in the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference.
It was Pablo’s second time this conference to earn the weekly honor, a testament to her consistency, leadership, and undeniable impact on both ends of the floor.
In back-to-back semifinal wins, Pablo stepped up when it mattered most. She tallied 13 points, including five crucial kill blocks, in Petro Gazz’s four-set thriller against Choco Mucho. Two days later, she delivered a game-high 16 points on 11 attacks, four blocks, and an ace as the Angels swept Akari to punch their Finals ticket.

“Myla has been a steady presence for us,” said Petro Gazz head coach Koji Tsuzurabara. “Her leadership, energy, and performance lift the whole team.”
Pablo’s resurgence has been one of the key storylines of the season. Once a two-time MVP, the 31-year-old hitter has evolved into a more complete player — capable of anchoring the defense while still being an elite scoring option.
“Every time Coach gives me a chance, I make sure to make the most of it,” Pablo shared. “I really just wanted to help Brooke [Van Sickle] on both offense and blocking. I’m also thankful to my teammates, especially the setters, for giving me confidence.”
As Petro Gazz heads into the championship series against Creamline, Pablo’s performance will continue to be pivotal. With the stakes higher than ever, the veteran is showing that she’s still one of the best in the league — and still very much built for the big stage.
Her Player of the Week citation places her alongside top contenders and cements her status as one of the central figures in Petro Gazz’s championship quest.
