From February 20 to March 2, the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 will take place in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. This will be the first global tournament of the 2025 VALORANT Champions Tour. In this article, experts from the international betting platform 1xBet will explain the format, participants, prize pool, and tournament schedule, as well as share their favorites.

VALORANT Champions Tour 2025: what’s new

Starting in 2025, the developer of the role-playing shooter VALORANT, Riot Games, has increased the number of teams in each league – Americas, China, EMEA, and Pacific – to 12. They also announced a longer season and introduced updated league formats. A key new feature is the VCT Points system, where teams will earn points throughout the season, which will be important for qualifying for the main tournament of the year in Paris.

In January, each league held a Kickoff series tournament, where the winner and the second-best team earned the right to compete at Masters Bangkok 2025. At the end of spring, Stage 1 tournaments will be held to determine the top 3 squads from each region. As a result, 12 teams will participate in the second Masters of 2025 in Toronto, Canada.

The Champions Paris season final will occur in Paris from September 12 to October 5. It will feature the 8 strongest teams from Stage 2 tournaments, plus 2 representatives from each region with the best VCT Points. In total, 16 of the world’s best squads will compete for the championship and a prize pool of $2,250,000.

Format

In the first stage, which will take place from February 20 to 24, teams will play using the Swiss system. To advance to the Playoffs, a team must win 2 matches out of 3 rounds in the Bo3 format. Teams that lose twice will be eliminated from the tournament.

The teams that win their first clash will move to the upper bracket, while the losers will go to the elimination matches. After the first and second rounds, a blind draw will determine the opponent pairings.

To make the contest more exciting, each team will start the tournament by playing against a rival from another region. The winners of their local leagues will face the second-place teams from other divisions.

Our prediction

The level of all participants is very high, and it’s hard to pick one favorite. In our opinion, the form and results of G2 Esports, EDward Gaming, and Team Vitality in recent matches make these teams the top contenders for the win.
