The excitement of Super Bowl LIX, the highly anticipated clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, will be taken to new heights with Sony’s innovative technology. As the official tech partner of the NFL, Sony is bringing over 240 of its cutting-edge cameras to capture every pivotal moment of the big game on February 9th in New Orleans. From the action on the field to the stunning visuals of the Halftime Show, Sony’s camera systems will provide fans around the world with a game experience unlike any other.

Sony’s extensive array of professional-grade cameras will be strategically placed throughout the Caesars Superdome, ensuring no moment is missed. The broadcast coverage will feature FOX Sports’ deployment of over 100 Sony cameras, including broadcast-standard HDC Series models, cinematic PTZ cameras, and full-frame cinema cameras such as the Sony VENICE 2. The game will be captured with razor-sharp precision, from key plays to replays, and even the post-game celebrations.

“Capturing the energy of the Super Bowl is our primary goal,” said Michael Davies, EVP of Field Operations at FOX Sports. “With Sony’s cameras, we can share the story of this monumental event with billions, keeping viewers engaged and immersed in the experience.”

In addition to FOX Sports, the Associated Press will also be using Sony’s Alpha™ cameras and G Master™ lenses to document the event through powerful imagery. Over 14 photographers from the AP will be stationed at the Super Bowl, working alongside NFL’s in-house photography team to deliver real-time, high-quality photos of the game’s most dramatic moments. The efficiency of Sony’s PDT-FP1 transmitter ensures that these images will be transmitted directly to editors, guaranteeing the fastest photo distribution.

The Halftime Show, always a spectacle in itself, will also benefit from Sony’s advanced camera systems. For the fifth consecutive year, the Funicular Goats production team will rely on Sony VENICE 2 Digital Cinema Cameras, capturing the live concert in stunning cinematic detail. With limited time to set up and execute, Sony’s technology allows for seamless integration, ensuring the performance is nothing short of perfection.

Sony’s involvement doesn’t stop at the cameras. The company will also support the event with its HawkREPLAY systems, which provide remote production and instant replay solutions. The high-quality replay system will enhance the viewing experience for fans, ensuring they never miss a key moment of the game. Additionally, Hawk-Eye technology will be used for in-game officiating and replay support, adding another layer of precision to the broadcast.

“This year, we’re bringing the best technology to enhance the Super Bowl experience for fans in the stadium and across the globe,” said Neal Manowitz, President and COO of Sony Electronics North America. “We’re proud to continue our tradition of innovation, helping to deliver an unforgettable game day experience.”

With more than 240 cameras covering every angle of Super Bowl LIX, from the field to the sidelines, the sky, and even the Halftime Show, Sony is setting a new standard in sports broadcasting and production technology. Fans, whether at home or in the stadium, can expect a captivating and immersive Super Bowl experience like never before.
