Spikers’ Turf Champions emerging talents, pledges support for 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship

The Spikers’ Turf concluded its 2024 season with immense success, showcasing a mix of established stars and rising talents across its Open and Invitational Conferences. Tournament director Mozzy Ravena expressed her satisfaction with the season, noting the emergence of future volleyball stars and the league’s growing fan base.

“Even if it’s a short one, I think it’s very successful. Marami na naman tayong players na nakita like si Louie Ramirez, MVP of the Finals. It’s just so much fun,” Ravena said.

Emerging Stars of Spikers’ Turf 2024

While Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo stole the spotlight early in the season, it was Jude Garcia who emerged as the breakout star. Garcia secured back-to-back MVP awards in the Open and Invitational Conferences, cementing his status as one of the league’s most dominant players.

League’s Growing Appeal

Ravena highlighted the league’s unique charm compared to women’s volleyball, noting the competitiveness and camaraderie among the players.

“May sarili rin siyang audience and, as you can see, dumadami na rin. The aura of the boys, even if Criss Cross lost today, you can see them bounce back. It’s a generally happy occasion for everyone,” Ravena said.

Focus Shifts to FIVB 2025

With the 2024 season wrapped up, Spikers’ Turf is now aligning its efforts with the Philippine National Volleyball Federation to fully support the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, set to be hosted in the Philippines.

“Pinaguusapan namin kasi we have to align everything with the Men’s World Championship. Very supportive kami sa national team players natin,” Ravena emphasized.

The league’s commitment to developing talent and fostering unity among national players will play a crucial role in the Philippines’ preparation for this prestigious international event.
