American golfer Peter Uihlein maintained his red-hot form to tie for the halfway lead at the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers. Uihlein, alongside fellow LIV Golf stars Cam Smith, Joaquin Niemann, and Logan McAllister, heads into the weekend at Riyadh Golf Club with a shared score of 11-under-par.

Tight Battle at the Top

Australian Open Champion Cam Smith delivered a bogey-free 64 to claim his spot at the top. Chilean star Joaquin Niemann followed closely with a 66, while American Logan McAllister shattered records with a course-best 63.

England’s Tyrell Hatton matched McAllister’s feat with a stellar 63, sitting one shot behind the leaders alongside fellow Englishman Steve Lewton, Australia’s Travis Smyth, and American Jason Kokrak. Defending champion Abraham Ancer of Mexico signed for a 68 to finish at six under, while first-round leaders Chang Wei-lun and Sadom Kaewkanjana fell to five under after carding 73s.

Uihlein Stays Focused

Despite a few uncharacteristic errors on par fives, Uihlein showcased his resilience by chipping in for a birdie on the 16th hole. His steady performance keeps him firmly in contention for both the tournament title and the International Series Rankings crown.

“It’s a goal to win the International Series Rankings,” Uihlein shared. “I feel like I’ve been solid throughout the season. Hopefully, I can finish it off and accomplish that goal.”

Smith, Niemann Aim for Victory

Smith, who narrowly missed out on a fourth Australian PGA Championship two weeks ago, is hungry for a win. “It was quite an easy round of golf,” said the 2022 Open Champion. “Being bogey-free feels great, and I’m excited for the weekend.”

Similarly, Niemann, after strong finishes in recent tournaments, is eager to seize his moment. “My form feels great,” said the Chilean. “I’ve been close several times, and I’m looking forward to getting the job done.”

Course Records Highlight Stellar Play

Logan McAllister’s stunning 63 not only set a new course record but also propelled him into the limelight. Tyrell Hatton’s matching round showcased his mastery of the newly lengthened Riyadh Golf Club layout, putting him squarely in the mix heading into the final rounds.
