The Philippines is gearing up to host the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025 for the first time as a solo host, promising a welcoming atmosphere that will make athletes, coaches, and fans feel right at home. The event, scheduled from September 12 to 28, will be held at the iconic SM Mall of Asia Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ramon “Tats” Suzara, president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and the newly elected president of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, expressed the country’s excitement and readiness during the 39th FIVB World Congress in Porto, Portugal.
“We can’t get enough of volleyball,” Suzara proudly shared. “The Philippines is a country that loves volleyball. Filipino volleyball fans set the standard with their energy, passion, and unparalleled support.”
Suzara highlighted the nation’s successful hosting of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) for three consecutive years, which drew an average attendance of 8,000 fans per game and a record-breaking crowd of 19,000 last June.
“The rest of the world will see just how much we love volleyball,” Suzara said. “We warmly welcome anyone who plays the game, making even foreign players and fans feel at home. In the Philippines, volleyball transcends borders.”
Under Suzara’s leadership, the Philippine men’s volleyball team has risen from 117th to 64th in the world rankings, showcasing the nation’s growing competence in the sport.
With the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025 approaching, the PNVF is set to deliver a world-class experience that celebrates both the sport and the vibrant culture of the Filipino people.
Joining Suzara at the FIVB World Congress were PNVF Vice President Ricky Palou, Secretary-General Donaldo Caringal, and Director Tonyboy Liao, who collectively represent the Philippines’ commitment to elevating volleyball on the global stage.
