UNREACHABLE in the skies, unbeatable on the ground. This is the Philippine Air Force badminton team after winning the 17th badminton title in the AFP-PNP-PCG-BFP-BJMP Olympics at the Philippine Army Gym.
The Airmen and women bucked a slow start in the eliminations to enter the finals against the Philippine National Police team. In a masterful display, the PAF drubbed PNP, 7-2 to ice the crown.
Leading the charge were Brigadier General Dennis Estrella and Colonel Loreto Pasamonte. Both played crucial roles in guiding the team to victory.
“The PAF showed exceptional skills and championship spirit to continue its dominance. The team displayed remarkable determination and resilience throughout the tournament,” Estrella, who is also a skilled badminton player, said
Estrella, is currently Wing Commander, Tactical Operations Northern Luzon. A proud son of Gumaca, Quezon, Estrella before being stationed at Clark, served as Tactical Operations Wing at Edwin Andrews based at Zamboanga City.
The PAF also thanked its supporters and its managers for the triumph.
