Conquering Seven Marathons in Seven Days
The World Marathon Challenge is one of the most grueling endurance tests in the world, requiring participants to complete seven marathons on seven continents in just seven days. Over 168 hours, Mench ran consecutive 42.2-kilometer races in:
- Antarctica – Ultima Basecamp
- Africa – Cape Town
- Australia – Perth
- Asia – Dubai
- Europe – Madrid

- North America – Miami

Battling extreme weather conditions, jet lag, and minimal recovery time, she crossed the final finish line in Miami on February 6, 2025, joining an elite group of athletes who have completed this monumental challenge.
A Legacy in Marathon Running
Mench has been an avid marathoner since 2008, and in 2017, she earned the coveted Six-Star Medal by completing all six races in the Abbott World Marathon Majors:
- Tokyo Marathon
- Boston Marathon
- London Marathon
- Berlin Marathon
- Chicago MarathonNew York City Marathon
With her latest achievement, she now stands as the first Filipina to complete both the World Marathon Challenge and the WMM. She follows Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III, who achieved the same feat in 2020, and joins Filipino-American runner Julie Uychiat, the first Fil-Am Filipina to accomplish this distinction.

Running for a Purpose
Beyond personal glory, Mench took on the World Marathon Challenge to raise PHP 7 million for the Sisters of Mary School, which provides education and vocational training to nearly 8,000 underprivileged students across the Philippines.
The funds will help establish a digital education center focused on blockchain, AI, robotics, and emerging technologies, preparing students for high-demand careers in the global workforce.
Empowering Filipinos in the Digital Economy
As the Country Head of Yield Guild Games (YGG) Pilipinas, Mench has been instrumental in the Metaverse Filipino Worker (MFW) movement, which aims to provide digital career opportunities for Filipinos.
With the global Web3 industry projected to grow from USD 3.2 billion in 2021 to USD 81.5 billion by 2030, she advocates for digital upskilling to equip Filipinos for 97 million new jobs expected in emerging industries.
“If we can bridge the digital skills gap, we can create sustainable pathways for Filipinos to thrive in the global economy without having to leave their home country and their families behind,” Mench shared.
