A Record-Breaking Year for Philippine Diving

The launch comes during a banner year for Philippine diving. The country was named the World’s Leading Dive Destination for the sixth consecutive year at the World Travel Awards and received further recognition, such as Best Dive Destination at the TripZilla Excellence Awards and the Diving Resort Travel Show.

Exploring Anilao’s Marine Wonders

Certified divers explored Anilao’s vibrant underwater landscapes, including the renowned LOVE Reef—an artificial reef established through community-driven conservation efforts. For non-divers, guided scuba experiences provided an immersive introduction to the underwater world, showcasing the Philippines’ rich marine biodiversity.

The event also highlighted the importance of sustainability in tourism through a coastal cleanup at Anilao Pier, reinforcing the Department of Tourism’s commitment to preserving marine ecosystems.

Secretary Frasco’s Statement

Secretary Frasco emphasized the Philippines’ unique position as a global leader in marine tourism.
“This event showcases the incredible diversity and beauty of the Philippines’ underwater landscapes, solidifying our position as a world-class diving destination. Sustainable tourism is at the heart of our initiatives to ensure these treasures are protected for future generations,” she said.
