Krog Endures Dakar Heat, Finishes 30th
The riders stayed together as a bunch for most of the race over a relatively flat route, with the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop. The pace changed in the last two laps, when riders from Europe and Australia attacked.
Six riders did not finish and one did not start in the 42-rider field. That left 35 finishers, with Krog placing 30th among them.
Krog Targets Individual Time Trial
Krog will race the 8-kilometer individual time trial on Tuesday, Nov. 10, on the same route. It is the second of her two events in Dakar.
Krog earned her place through the IOC’s universality allocation after finishing sixth at the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. She has also won gold medals at the Batang Pinoy and national cycling championships.
Two Southeast Asian riders, one each from Indonesia and Vietnam, finished ahead of Krog in the road race. Thailand’s rider crossed the line 35th and last.
