BRAVE CF 106 delivered championship drama and a historic milestone as Maja and Domen Drnovšek became the first married couple in mixed martial arts history to compete and win on the same fight card. The landmark achievement took place at Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana, Slovenia, during an event that featured major title fights and memorable performances.
While championship bouts dominated the headlines entering the event, the story that resonated most strongly after the final bell belonged to the Slovenian couple. Their dual victories marked a unique accomplishment in a sport where athletes typically pursue success as individuals rather than as part of a shared competitive journey.

Historic Night Unfolds
The evening began with Maja Drnovšek delivering an impressive performance in her women’s flyweight contest against Poland’s Wiktoria Wojciechowska. Displaying composure and technical precision, she secured a first-round arm-triangle choke submission to earn a decisive victory.
Her dominant win immediately placed the couple on the verge of making history. However, the achievement still depended on Domen Drnovšek completing his own assignment later in the evening against Hungary’s István Juhász in a 73-kilogram catchweight bout.
Domen faced a far more demanding challenge and was pushed through all three rounds by his determined opponent. Relying on consistent pressure, effective striking and sustained activity, he managed to do enough to convince all three judges and earned a unanimous decision victory.
With both fighters having their hands raised, the Drnovšeks officially became the first married couple to compete and win on the same fight card in MMA history. The accomplishment represented the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice and mutual support inside and outside the sport.
Years of Perseverance
The historic achievement carried additional significance because it completed a journey that had previously fallen just short of its goal. At BRAVE CF 102 in November 2025, the Drnovšeks became the first married couple to compete on the same BRAVE Combat Federation event.
During that earlier appearance, Maja enjoyed a successful professional debut by defeating Ghita Chafik. Domen, however, was unable to secure a result after his bout against Lucian Dragomir ended in a no-contest following an accidental eye poke.
The outcome denied the couple an opportunity to celebrate a shared victory on the same night. Although the milestone remained incomplete, they continued training together and remained committed to achieving that goal in future competition.
The Drnovšeks often describe themselves as “partners in life, teammates in battle,” a philosophy that reflects the foundation of their relationship and athletic careers. Their shared commitment to martial arts has allowed them to pursue success together while supporting each other through the challenges of professional competition.
Beyond the historic achievement, BRAVE CF 106 also featured major championship developments. Pavel Dailidko successfully defended the BRAVE CF Heavyweight World Championship with a dominant stoppage victory over Miha Frlic, while Mohamed Said Maalem captured the BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight World Title by defeating Erko Jun in their highly anticipated rematch.
