Savouge roared back from consecutive losses with a commanding straight-sets victory over 3B, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13, to clinch the second semifinal berth in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference on Wednesday, March 18, at the Filoil Centre.
Despite missing head coach Sydney Calderon, the Spin Doctors delivered a dominant performance, completing a swift 55-minute rout to improve to a 5-2 record and advance to the semifinals alongside the unbeaten King Crunchers.

Savouge bounces back with dominant showing
Assistant coach Macky Cariño emphasized the urgency for a win after dropping their previous two matches. The team responded with a complete performance, dictating the pace from start to finish.
Savouge overwhelmed 3B across all departments, finishing with a 42-21 edge in attacks, a 10-1 advantage in aces, and a 6-1 margin in blocks. The Spin Doctors also limited their errors to just 11 while capitalizing on 3B’s 17 miscues.
Balanced scoring fuels semifinal push
JP Bugaoan and Joeven Dela Vega led Savouge with 10 points each, with Bugaoan earning Best Player of the Game honors despite playing only in the first two sets.
Shawie Caritativo added seven points, while Louie Ramirez chipped in six. Mark Calado contributed five, and Giles Torres, Louis Gamban, JD Diwa, and team captain Hero Austria added four points each to highlight Savouge’s depth.
Savouge will aim to sustain its momentum when it faces the Alpha Insurance Protectors on Friday at the same venue.
On the other hand, 3B dropped to a 2-6 record despite a previous win over VNS Always Bright Laticrete. Kenneth Daynata led the Event Masters with six points, while Israel Encina added five in the loss, with the team missing Carl Berdal.
