The Subic Bay Multisport Festival attracted nearly 1,000 athletes to the shores of Subic Bay for a two-day celebration of endurance racing that brought together competitors, families, and supporters in one of the country’s premier sports destinations on March 2.
Organized by GoRacePH, the event combined youth competitions, recreational races, and elite multisport showdowns that highlighted the growing popularity of triathlon and related disciplines in the Philippines.
Participants competed in a variety of events designed for different age groups and skill levels, turning the coastal venue into a bustling hub for multisport activity. The festival atmosphere also provided a boost to tourism and local businesses as visiting athletes and their companions explored the attractions of Subic Bay throughout the weekend.

The opening day of the Subic Bay Multisport Festival was held under the Pho3nix Kids Philippines banner, marking the start of the first leg in this year’s Pho3nix Kids race series. Young participants took center stage in the kids races, while recreational runners joined the energetic 5K fun run and adult athletes competed in the aquathlon event.
The mix of youth and adult races created an inclusive environment where beginners and experienced competitors could take part in the festivities. Families and supporters lined the course to cheer on participants, adding to the vibrant community spirit that defined the first day of competition.
Elite racers shine in multisport showdown
Day two of the Subic Bay Multisport Festival showcased top-tier competition as athletes battled for honors in the triathlon, duathlon, and aquavelo races. The endurance contests pushed competitors across scenic routes and open waters, delivering thrilling performances from some of the country’s top multisport athletes.
James Van Ramoga of Team Go For Gold emerged as the overall male champion in the Sprint Triathlon after finishing with an impressive time of 1:07:16. Sachi Rae Viray of TriClark dominated the women’s category, crossing the finish line in 1:27:26 to claim the overall female title.
Race director Jumbo Tayag said the event continues to serve as a cornerstone for the growing multisport community in the Philippines. He emphasized that GoRacePH aims to provide a platform that welcomes both competitive athletes and newcomers to the sport.
“These multisport weekends have become a staple of Go Race PH,” Tayag said. “We plan to offer a competitive but also approachable platform for racing — regardless if you’re 9 or 90, beginner or elite. There’s a place for you here.”

Sponsors help power festival atmosphere
Athletes and spectators also enjoyed the natural beauty of Subic Bay, where calm waters and scenic race routes provided a memorable backdrop for the endurance competitions. Finisher rewards such as medals, craft beer, and recovery support from sponsors added to the celebratory atmosphere throughout the weekend.
The Subic Bay Multisport Festival was supported by presenting sponsor Cycles and Brew and official venue partner Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, while Subic Grand Harbour Hotel served as the official race hotel for participants and organizers.
