Domination defined the close of Week 3 in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference preliminaries as the Farm Fresh Foxies dismantled the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18, at the FilOil Playtime Centre on Saturday, February 21.
It was a near-flawless, businesslike showing from Farm Fresh, which needed just 75 minutes to wrap up the sweep. The victory mirrored the earlier straight-sets win by the Creamline Cool Smashers over the Capital1 Solar Spikers.
Trisha Tubu paced the offense with 16 points while Jolina dela Cruz added 13. From the opening serve, the Foxies dictated tempo with disciplined execution and balanced scoring.

Farm Fresh moved crisply in transition and consistently capitalized on ZUS Coffee’s reception and attacking lapses. The Foxies’ floor coverage and decision-making reflected a team growing more comfortable within its system.
Efficiency told the bigger story for Farm Fresh. After earlier inconsistency against the Nxled and the Cignal HD Spikers, the Foxies appeared far more composed this time.
They committed just four combined errors in the first two sets, maintaining pressure without giving away free points. By the third frame, Farm Fresh finished with only two miscues, long after control of the match had been firmly established.
Discipline fuels Farm Fresh surge
Farm Fresh conceded only six free points throughout the match, a remarkably low number in league play. The clean performance highlighted how much the Foxies have tightened their execution since the opening weeks.
ZUS Coffee never settled into rhythm and ended up surrendering 18 free points. The Thunderbelles struggled with serve-receive stability, timing and offensive coordination, allowing Farm Fresh to dictate the flow with minimal resistance.
Unlike tightly contested matches where momentum swings shape the outcome, this contest leaned heavily on execution gaps. Farm Fresh remained steady and organized while ZUS Coffee’s errors repeatedly stalled any pushback.
Dela Cruz, who earned Best Player of the Game honors, said the team’s mindset shift has been central to the turnaround. The winger emphasized their urgency to climb the standings after a slow start.
“Our motivation is to improve our standing. We never stopped preparing even after two losses,” dela Cruz said in Filipino. She added that the team continues to respond to the staff’s push for consistency.
Thunderbelles continue to search for answers
The win came a week after Farm Fresh delivered the tournament’s most lopsided result against the Galeries Tower Highrisers. With improved chemistry and sharper floor coverage, the Foxies are beginning to look like a team capable of sustaining control.
Now at 2-2, Farm Fresh appears to be settling into its identity at a critical stretch of the preliminaries. The Foxies are showing signs that their early stumbles may have accelerated their growth.
ZUS Coffee, meanwhile, slipped to 1-4 and continues to battle inconsistency and limited scoring depth. The Thunderbelles have yet to find stable offensive rhythm through the first three weeks.
Riza Nogales led ZUS Coffee with 11 points while Fiola Ceballos added nine. Kate Santiago contributed eight markers as the team searched for answers.
Veteran Rachel Ann Daquis chipped in six in her debut, but top hitter Chinnie Arroyo struggled and finished with just two points in limited action. The Thunderbelles were unable to generate sustained pressure.
Farm Fresh hardly had to force the issue early in the match. ZUS Coffee handed away nine free points on unforced errors in the opening set alone.
Both teams produced 12 attack points in the first frame, but the error gap proved decisive. Two service aces from the Foxies quickly pushed the set beyond recovery and set the tone for the sweep.
