Young Filipino athletes who won medals at the 2025 Asian Youth Games were honored in a special awarding ceremony hosted by SportsPlus in Mandaluyong City. The event celebrated 26 medalists who raised the Philippines’ profile in Manama, Bahrain.
During the lunch on December 3, SportsPlus presented each medalist with an iPhone 17. The gift aims to strengthen athletes’ connections with coaches, trainers, family and support teams as they continue their development.

Corporate support that connects athletes
SportsPlus Head of Partnerships James da Costa said the awards reflect the company’s belief that talent needs both opportunity and support. He added that the devices will help athletes stay in touch and speed up coaching feedback during critical training phases.
Furthermore, SportsPlus emphasized that the gesture is part of a larger program to invest in grassroots sports. The company framed the present as a step toward long-term programs that help young athletes train smarter and compete better.
Partnerships and national pride
The awarding drew POC leaders who thanked SportsPlus for backing Filipino youth on the international stage. Don Caringal, speaking for the POC Board and President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, praised the company for inspiring athletes with tangible support.
As a result of events like this, the sports community sees renewed momentum for athlete development programs. SportsPlus reaffirmed its role as a partner of the POC and pledged continued investment to help Filipino athletes reach higher.
