China’s U16 women’s volleyball team secured a quarterfinal berth in commanding fashion, sweeping Kazakhstan, 25-17, 25-22, 25-11, in its final Group C match of the Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship on Monday in Amman.
The young Chinese squad, which edged South Korea in five sets on Saturday and swept Qatar on Sunday, continued its dominant form at Prince Hamzah Hall in Hussein Youth City. With the victory, China completed a perfect three-match run to top Group C and advance to the next round.

China tops Group C as knockout stage begins
South Korea also progressed from Group C after posting straight-set wins over both Kazakhstan and Qatar to finish behind China. The tournament features 14 teams divided into four groups, with the top two from each advancing.
Group A included host Jordan, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong, with Uzbekistan and Hong Kong moving forward. Group B featured Japan, Iran and the Philippines, with Japan and the Philippines advancing. China and South Korea progressed from Group C, while Chinese Taipei and Thailand emerged from Group D, joined by Australia and India in the same bracket.

The top four teams at the Asian U16 tournament will earn qualification to the 2026 World Women’s U17 Championship, raising stakes for China as it enters the knockout stage riding momentum and undefeated form. With strong defensive coverage, consistent serving and decisive attacking, China aims to continue its push toward a world-level ticket.
