With exactly 32 days left, the Philippines is in full swing for its solo hosting of the 32-nation FIVB 2025 Men’s World Championship, set for September 12 to 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara assured that preparations are “on track” during the Final Technical Working Group Inter-Agency Meeting on Monday at Century Park Hotel. “I am so thankful to all government and private sectors for their valuable contributions and time to make our hosting of the game safe, convenient and exciting,” Suzara said.
Strong multi-sector support
The meeting was attended by key figures including William Vincent “Vinny” Araneta Marcos—co-chair of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) alongside Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco. Also present were PSC chairman Patrick Gregorio, POC president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, Senator Pia Cayetano, and Manuel V. Pangilinan.
Gregorio, who heads the government task force for the event, expressed confidence in the country’s hosting capability, citing PNVF’s proven track record in organizing major volleyball tournaments.
Government and public engagement activities
Representatives from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Immigration, PAGCOR, PCSO, MMDA, and several government departments attended to ensure smooth coordination.
Public engagement kicks off on August 12 with the LRT Ride with Alas Pilipinas Women from Recto to Santolan Station starting at 1 p.m. On August 13, the “Set Na ‘To! An Electrifying Launch” will take place at the SM MOA Music Hall from 4 p.m. onwards, hyping up fans ahead of the championship.
