Dasmariñas, Cavite – With a spot in the quarterfinals on the line, Farm Fresh delivered a resounding statement, sweeping Capital1 in straight sets, 25–20, 25–15, 25–21, at the newly inaugurated Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite on Saturday, August 2.
Unleashing their full arsenal, the Foxies outclassed the Solar Spikers in every statistical category — 42–25 in attacks, 13–4 in blocks, and 8–2 in service aces — to storm into the next round of the PVL On Tour, a preseason tournament organized by Sports Vision.
Despite committing 25 unforced errors, 13 more than their opponents, the Foxies’ dominance was clear throughout the 84-minute match, with their improving chemistry and balanced offense standing out in a do-or-die scenario.

Alohi Robins-Hardy, the third overall pick in the recent PVL Rookie Draft, took home Best Player of the Game honors after dishing out 15 excellent sets and scoring five points of her own. Yet, the composed setter deflected credit, instead lauding her teammates’ finishing ability.
“It’s just about my teammates. I try my best to give them a good ball – and they do what they do best: score points,” said Robins-Hardy.
Farm Fresh, third in Pool A, joined early quarterfinalists PLDT, Cignal, Nxled, and Creamline, leaving six teams to battle for the remaining three spots.
Capital1, on the other hand, bowed out of the tournament winless in five Pool B matches, unable to capture a single victory in their PVL On Tour campaign.
Tubu, Toring, Dela Cruz power the charge
Trisha Tubu led the scoring charge with 15 points, including four key blocks. Lorene Toring and Caitlin Viray added 11 points each, while Jolina dela Cruz chipped in 10 and Rizza Cruz contributed nine. Viray and dela Cruz also shone in floor defense, combining for 15 excellent digs and receptions, next to libero Ann Monares’ 14 digs and nine receptions.
Even after squandering a 16–10 lead in the third set and falling behind 19–20, the Foxies showed composure down the stretch. Toring tied the score with a quick hit, and Tubu reclaimed the lead with her fourth block. Dela Cruz added another block, before Tubu and Toring delivered the finishing blows, capped by Dela Cruz’s emphatic kill that sealed the win.
“I always try to stay calm,” Robins-Hardy said. “That helps us regroup.”

Foxies show total dominance
From the opening whistle, Farm Fresh dictated the tempo with crisp ball movement, precision setting, and relentless attacking. The Foxies’ well-distributed offense made them unpredictable and hard to defend, while their net defense stifled Capital1’s every attempt to build momentum.
Tubu’s block midway through the first set gave them a 16–10 cushion and set the tone for the rest of the match. The Foxies consistently won long rallies and broke Capital1’s rhythm with airtight blocking and quick counterattacks.
Capital1 struggled to find any rhythm offensively. KC Galdones led the Solar Spikers with just seven points, while Trisha Genesis, Pia Abbu, and Sydney Niegos combined for only 17 markers. Veteran Shola Alvarez was limited to three points in a quiet outing.
With their deep roster and clear system, Farm Fresh’s statement win not only secured a quarterfinal spot, but also served notice that the Foxies are emerging as legitimate contenders in the PVL preseason showcase.
