It was the first win of the tournament for the Kenyan side, sparked by a 23-point effort from Albert Odero and a strong team performance with six players scoring in double figures.

Thunder dominated the rebounding battle 53-43 and outran their opponents with 27 fast break points. Despite the loss, MBB’s Teafale Lenard Jr lit up the court with 38 points—setting a new single-game scoring record for the 2025 BAL season.

Al Ahli Tripoli makes history in win over APR

In the second game of the day, Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya kept their perfect record alive with a thrilling 106-102 victory over hosts APR of Rwanda. Jaylen Adams led the charge with 26 points, while Jean Jacques Boissy and Mohammed Sadi added 15 apiece to push Al Ahli to 5-0.

APR gave their all behind standout efforts from Obadiah Noel (30 points) and Chasson Randle (25 points), but it wasn’t enough to stop Al Ahli’s offensive firepower.
