Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), in partnership with B.LEAGUE, is bringing Japanese basketball closer to Filipino fans through the B.LEAGUE Finals Week Manila scheduled from May 21 to 24 at the SM Megamall Mega Fashion Hall. The collaboration is also part of the celebration marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
The multi-day event aims to showcase the excitement of Japanese basketball while strengthening cultural and sporting ties between the two nations. Fans are expected to experience interactive activities, basketball-themed events and opportunities to connect with professional B.LEAGUE personalities throughout the celebration.

Toyota highlights grassroots basketball
One of the central highlights of the collaboration is the B. Hope Asia Jr. Clinic on May 23, which reflects Toyota’s continued support for grassroots sports development in the Philippines. The clinic is designed to provide young Filipino athletes with high-level basketball instruction and exposure to professional training environments.
Children of different skill levels will have the opportunity to participate in basketball drills and activities led by professional B.LEAGUE players. Filipino basketball star Kiefer Ravena of the Yokohama B-Corsairs will also serve as a guest coach during the clinic, adding another major attraction for aspiring young players.
Toyota Motor Philippines said the initiative aligns with its long-standing commitment to helping Filipino athletes and supporting sports development programs nationwide. The company noted that providing opportunities for young athletes remains an important part of its advocacy efforts.
TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Elijah Marcial emphasized the company’s continuing efforts to contribute to Philippine sports through its Start Your Impossible campaign. She pointed to Toyota’s previous partnerships with Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and para swimmer Ernie Gawilan as examples of its broader support for athlete development and community initiatives.
Interactive activities await fans
Aside from the basketball clinic, visitors attending the B.LEAGUE Finals Week Manila can also explore Toyota’s latest vehicle lineup at the company’s booth inside the venue. Guests will be able to learn more about Toyota models while participating in interactive games and activities prepared for fans.
Exclusive prizes and basketball-themed attractions are also expected to be available throughout the event. Organizers hope the collaboration will help deepen the connection between Filipino basketball fans and the growing popularity of the B.LEAGUE across Asia.
Toyota previously supported Philippine basketball as the official mobility partner of Gilas Pilipinas during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The company said its involvement in the B. Hope Asia Jr. Clinic further reflects its commitment to supporting grassroots athletes and helping develop Philippine sports at multiple levels.
With the B.LEAGUE Finals Week Manila bringing together sports, culture and community engagement, organizers are aiming to create a memorable celebration for basketball fans while promoting opportunities for young athletes to grow through the sport.
