Jonathan Ng wins PVL Executive of the Year again after steering Creamline dynasty revival

Stability at the top once again defined Creamline’s championship formula as business leader Jonathan Ng secured his second consecutive PVL Executive of the Year award after steering the Cool Smashers back to dominance.

The Republic Biscuit Corporation Group of Food Companies vice chairman and CEO will receive the recognition during the 2nd Pilipinas Live Premier Volleyball League Press Corps Awards Night on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Cubao. His latest honor came after Creamline overcame one of its most turbulent seasons and returned to the summit of Philippine professional volleyball.

Ng accumulated nine total points in the voting process, drawing strong support from both league coaches and captains as well as the media covering the Sports Vision-backed league. The repeat recognition underscored his continued influence in shaping one of the PVL’s most successful long-term programs.

Leadership fuels dynasty

Ng surpassed fellow sports executives Jude Turcuato of PLDT and Frank Lao of ZUS Coffee to once again capture the award. His sustained leadership has long served as the backbone of Creamline’s rise into the league’s gold standard.

For years, Ng’s organizational blueprint has mirrored the same strategic consistency that built Rebisco’s corporate success, allowing Creamline to maintain elite-level competitiveness even as league parity intensified. That foundation proved critical during periods when the franchise encountered unusual setbacks.

After dominant years, Creamline faced unfamiliar struggles in 2025, settling for bronze finishes in both the PVL on Tour and Invitational tournaments. The franchise’s downturn became even more pronounced during the Reinforced Conference when the Cool Smashers dropped to sixth place and saw their historic 19-conference semifinal streak end.

Creamline returns strong

Rather than overhauling direction during adversity, Ng maintained confidence in the franchise’s established championship structure. His long-term support reinforced belief within the organization despite growing doubts surrounding the veteran core.

With Jia De Guzman, Jema Galanza, Bernadeth Pons, and Dij Rodriguez leading the resurgence, Creamline battled through a dramatically improved field filled with stronger contenders. The Cool Smashers survived multiple high-pressure scenarios before completing a two-game finals sweep of Cignal to secure their 11th overall PVL championship in the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.

Creamline’s return to the throne reaffirmed Ng’s model of sustained leadership through transition, proving that dynasties are preserved not merely by talent, but by executive stability, patience, and unwavering commitment to organizational excellence.
