In a match that felt every bit like a championship clash, PLDT outlasted Farm Fresh in a five-set thriller at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, edging closer to the PVL All-Filipino Conference bronze medal after a grueling 22-25, 25-21, 27-25, 26-28, 15-11 victory. The High Speed Hitters survived multiple momentum swings before closing out the decider with composure.

Farm Fresh set the tone early by taking the opening set behind aggressive attacking runs that forced PLDT into early adjustments. The Foxies maintained pressure through long rallies, testing PLDT’s floor defense and transition play.

PLDT responded in the second set by tightening its reception and improving its spacing on offense, allowing more consistent ball distribution. That adjustment helped stabilize their rhythm and level the match.

The third set turned into a tightly contested battle with extended exchanges and late-set pressure points. PLDT eventually edged ahead in the frame, but Farm Fresh refused to fade and forced a fourth set through clutch finishing.

Savi Davison powers PLDT in decisive fifth set

PLDT leaned on Savi Davison in the deciding frame as she delivered the critical finishing stretch that broke Farm Fresh’s resistance. She scored key points late, including decisive attacks and defensive stops at the net that shifted control firmly to PLDT.

Kim Fajardo provided steady orchestration throughout the match, maintaining offensive flow and distributing sets that kept multiple attackers engaged. Her composure helped PLDT recover from pressure moments and sustain long rallies.

Farm Fresh remained competitive deep into the fifth set but struggled to contain PLDT’s late defensive execution and transition scoring.
