Macau finally barged into the win column in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup after overpowering Titan Ultra, 119-107, on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. The Black Knights leaned on a huge second-quarter surge to flip the game and never looked back, ending a seven-game skid while dragging Titan into a similar record.

Macau found its rhythm in the second period, erupting for a 41-16 run that turned a 22-32 deficit into a commanding lead. That stretch proved to be the turning point as the Black Knights took control of the game.

Phoenix Shackelford and Ramon Cao ignited the rally, combining for key baskets that sparked momentum. Jenning Leung then sustained the offensive push, allowing Macau to build a cushion that reached as much as 78-56.

Despite attempts from Titan to regroup, Macau’s defense and shot-making held firm. The Black Knights maintained composure and prevented any extended run that could threaten their advantage.

Leung delivered a standout performance with a PBA career-high 32 points, draining seven three-pointers along with a four-point shot. His bounce-back effort came after a quiet outing in their previous loss, showing his importance to Macau’s offense.

Damian Chongui added 23 points and nine assists, orchestrating plays and providing stability in crucial stretches. Phoenix Shackelford nearly recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists, while Tony Mitchell contributed 18 points and 14 boards.

Titan mounted a late push behind Fran Yu, who erupted for a career-high 35 points. However, Macau answered every rally with timely baskets to secure the win.

Yu’s performance placed him among the shortest players to reach at least 35 points in a PBA game since LA Tenorio. Still, the night ultimately belonged to Macau as it celebrated its long-awaited first victory.
