Rising stars and historic champions
The BVR serves as a platform for emerging talent along the picturesque Sipalay coastline, blending competition with Philippine beach culture. Two years ago, University of Santo Tomas’ Sofiah Pagara and Khy Progella completed a perfect run in the women’s division, while Australia’s New South Wales Phoenix duo of Killian Donovan and Jett Graham took the men’s title.
The 2026 Nuvali Open features 40 teams: 16 women, 16 men, and eight U18 girls squads. Notable players from Alas Pilipinas will also be competing. Fans attending the event can enter for free, making it accessible for beach volleyball enthusiasts.
As part of the weekend festivities, the BVR will host a special meet-and-greet session with the Alas Pilipinas women’s team, who captured the country’s first-ever beach volleyball gold medal at the 2025 Thailand Southeast Asian Games. The session will take place on Sunday, giving fans a chance to interact with the historic champions.
