Jules Tolentino continues to prove why she is one of the brightest young setters in the Premier Volleyball League, steering Nxled to another statement win in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The 23-year-old playmaker orchestrated a clinical straight-sets victory over Cignal in a clash of unbeaten squads, delivering 19 excellent sets and five points to keep the Chameleons flawless through three matches.

Tolentino’s command of the offense fueled a 25-19, 25-22, 27-25 triumph, showcasing her poise under pressure and precision in crucial stretches. Her performance answered the challenge of facing a fellow unbeaten team and reinforced Nxled’s early-season momentum.

Nxled’s balanced attack overwhelms Cignal

The former De La Salle University standout distributed the ball with confidence, enabling Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips to tally 14 points apiece. Myla Pablo chipped in 12 markers, while Lyann De Guzman added nine to complete a balanced scoring effort.

Tolentino’s leadership was evident in the closing moments, trusting her veteran teammates to deliver in crunch time. Her steady decision-making allowed Nxled to fend off late Cignal surges in the third set and seal the sweep.

For her standout outing during the February 10 to 14 stretch, Tolentino was named PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live, edging several top performers across the league.

Rookie refuses complacency amid early success

Despite playing a key role in Petro Gazz’s Reinforced Conference championship run last year and entering the league as the 11th overall pick of the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft, Tolentino remains focused on growth.

“Lagi ko lang na mindset sa sarili ko na magwo-work hard lang ako, at kahit manalo o matalo, same pa rin yung attitude ko,” Tolentino said.

“Ayun, siguro po grateful din po sa mga nangyayari, but then again, I’m not really complacent, kaya every day talaga gusto ko i-push yung sarili ko kasi gusto ko talaga ma-reach yung highest potential ko.”

She credited her veteran teammates for guiding her in high-pressure situations, emphasizing how their experience steadies the group late in matches.

Tolentino and Nxled now turn their attention to Galeries Tower as they seek a fourth straight victory on Thursday at the Filoil Centre.
