Savi Davison made sure PLDT opened its 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference campaign with authority.
The Filipino-Canadian standout unleashed a dominant all-around performance to tow the High Speed Hitters to a straight-sets stunner over powerhouse Creamline on Thursday, February 5, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
PLDT dismantled the 10-time champion Cool Smashers, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23, behind Davison’s monster triple-double that immediately shook up the early conference landscape.

She poured in 26 points anchored on 23 attacks and three kill blocks. Davison also showcased her floor defense with 11 digs and 10 excellent receptions in one of the most complete performances of her PVL career.
The victory sent a strong message that PLDT is ready to challenge the league’s traditional powers this season.
Davison’s brilliance did not go unnoticed as she was named the first PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the period of January 31 to February 7.
Statement win against a loaded rival
The win came against a Creamline squad that returned to full strength.
Jia De Guzman and Bernadeth Pons rejoined the Cool Smashers after national team duties, while Jema Galanza came back from injury to reinforce a core that includes Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos and Michele Gumabao.
Davison admitted the matchup was intimidating, especially with Creamline’s depth and vocal crowd support.
“I’ve been working a lot on patience and waiting all week, and not trying to come out strong because Creamline and their fans… They can make it a really hard environment to play in. I’m just glad that we were able to keep calm and stick to our 80 percent throughout the match,” she said.
“You know what, they were pretty intimidating when they came out. I’m not going to lie, all of them were complete. I knew that it was going to be a hard match. Like I said, I’m just happy that we were able to win tonight.”
Leading by example early
Savi Davison entered the conference noticeably stronger and in peak form.
Her offensive efficiency and defensive stability anchored PLDT’s system from start to finish, preventing Creamline from mounting any late-set comeback.
Despite the emphatic win, Davison kept her focus on the bigger picture.
“We try to do this every game coming forward. I don’t want to take it to our head, but it’s one game at a time.”
Davison edged out several top performers for the weekly citation, including Bella Belen of Capital1, Brooke Van Sickle and Myla Pablo of Nxled, Erika Santos and Vanie Gandler of Cignal, Sisi Rondina of Choco Mucho, and Erika Deloria of Galeries Tower.
If the opening salvo is any indication, Savi Davison is setting the tone for a statement conference run.
