The Philippines is set to make history this March with the launch of the Women’s Padel Series, the first global platform entirely dedicated to professional women’s padel. The series will debut with the FIP Silver Women’s Padel Manila, officially recognized as the world’s first women-only professional padel tournament.

Led by the Women’s Padel Association (WPA) in partnership with the International Padel Players Association (IPPA), the initiative underscores the Philippines’ growing influence in international sport and its commitment to supporting female athletes at every level.

A historic milestone for Philippine sport

Hosting a world-first professional tournament elevates the Philippines as a key destination capable of delivering international-caliber sporting events. Beyond competition, the Women’s Padel Series represents a long-term effort to expand opportunities for female athletes and inspire the next generation of Filipinas to pursue sports professionally.

“Bringing the world’s first women-only professional padel tournament to the Philippines is both a proud and defining moment,” said Alenna Dawn, WPA founder. “This is about creating a future where women are given the platform, visibility, and professional pathways they deserve. We are honored that this global movement begins here in Manila.”

Competition and community impact

In addition to the professional tournament, organizers will launch the Women’s Challenger, a parallel competition aimed at engaging the broader women’s padel community nationwide. By combining elite athletes with emerging players, the series promotes grassroots development while elevating professional standards.

Lucía Sainz, President of the IPPA, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “The Philippines is an exciting and dynamic market for padel, and launching the Women’s Padel Series in Manila highlights the country’s growing role in the international sporting landscape. Together with WPA, we are committed to ensuring that female athletes are supported, represented, and empowered at every level.”
