The HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026 kicked off at The National Stadium at The Kallang with thrilling rugby action and fan festivities. New Zealand’s Women’s team dominated Great Britain 64-0 in Pool B before defeating Canada and France, topping their group with 138 points. In men’s action, Fiji narrowly defeated South Africa 24-19 after a golden point tie at 19-19, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.

The new global rugby sevens season format debuted in Singapore, alongside the SEA 7s, where Thailand claimed the Women’s title with a 39-0 win over Malaysia, and Malaysia triumphed in the Men’s final. Fans also enjoyed Ruck and Rumble matches, interactive games, and entertainment throughout the stadium.

A festival of fun for fans

From vibrant costumes to flags and posters, fans brought the stands to life. The HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026 ambassadors, Ruby Tui, Nathan Hirayama, and Jerry Tuwai, thrilled cheering crowds. Kids met their favorite characters, including LITTLE PONY, Peppa & George Pig, and Optimus Prime, while teens joined Mandai Ranger missions, tag rugby games, and PS5 gaming stations.

Fans stayed fueled with treats from Meatsmith and Burnt Ends Bakery, and the Beach Club offered refreshing drinks. Throughout the day, the stadium buzzed with energy, laughter, and music as families and supporters shared unforgettable moments together.

Inspiring the next generation

The Kallang Group hosted activities across fan zones and schools to encourage rugby participation at all levels. Eleven schools and community sports networks joined learning journeys, sports clinics, and coaching sessions led by World Rugby officials. Participants learned valuable skills, game strategies, and officiating knowledge, preparing them for future competitions.

The excitement continues with thirteen National School Games matches starting 2 February 2026, and the Singapore Rugby Union National League U15s kicking off 7 February 2026. Fans can follow the tournament live, while limited tickets remain available for in-stadium viewing.

The HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026 continues tomorrow, 1 February 2026, with Fiji vs Great Britain at 12.00pm local time (GMT+8). Women’s gold-medal match begins at 7.05pm, followed by men’s at 7.41pm. Fans can also watch via live stream or catch up with on-demand highlights.
