PFL MENA Finals fighters make weight ahead of championship night

All fighters scheduled for the PFL MENA Finals stepped onto the scale in Khobar and cleared their respective limits on Thursday night. The smooth weigh-in session ensured that all championship bouts and showcase contests remain intact for Friday, December 5.

Welterweight finalists Mohammad Alaqraa and Badreddine Diani posted nearly identical numbers as they finally locked in their matchup. Alaqraa registered 169.8 pounds, while Diani came in at 169.2 pounds to confirm their long-awaited showdown.

Lightweight contenders Salah Eddine Hamli and Mohammad Fahmi also kept the co-main event intact by coming in under the championship threshold. Hamli weighed in at 154.8 pounds, and Fahmi followed at 154.6 pounds, maintaining a clash between two undefeated prospects.

Featherweight and bantamweight divisions stay on course

Featherweight contenders Islam Reda and Yanis Ghemmouri both stayed safely within their limits to finalize the division’s title bout. Reda posted exactly 145 pounds as Ghemmouri hit 143.8 pounds, maintaining their regional rivalry heading into Friday.

In the bantamweight ranks, Jordan’s Nawras Abzakh and Egypt’s Islam Youssef also cleared the scales with room to spare. Abzakh came in at 134.4 pounds, while Youssef recorded 135 pounds on the dot, keeping the championship bracket complete.

The remaining divisions mirrored that consistency as lightweight showcase fighters Abbas Khan and Ahmed El Sisy both made weight for their matchup. Their successful check-ins kept the card’s depth intact heading into fight night.

Saudi representatives confirm showcase bouts

Saudi flyweight prospect Malik Basahel registered 125.2 pounds to secure his spot in the lineup. His opponent, Egypt’s Mahmoud Atef, also delivered at 125.6 pounds, ensuring a matchup between two emerging regional athletes.

Khobar’s own Ahmed Albrahim hit the amateur welterweight mark at 168.8 pounds to the delight of local supporters. His opponent, Mohamed Nabil, reached 170.8 pounds, completing the final amateur pairing on the card.

A catchweight entry featuring Hamad Marhoon and Walid Gounaine was also confirmed once both athletes posted near-identical numbers. Marhoon weighed in at 129.4 pounds, while Gounaine registered 129 pounds to round out the weigh-in slate.
