Key contributors lead the way
Justin Brownlee led the charge with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and a block, delivering a full line that showcased his leadership on both ends of the court. Dwight Ramos added 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Kevin Quiambao contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, plus a steal and block. Chris Newsome chipped in 10 points, anchoring the bench support alongside the rest of the team.
All but one Gilas Pilipinas player scored at least two points in the wire-to-wire victory, reflecting the team’s balanced attack and depth.
Strong finish ensures commanding win
Guam briefly challenged the home team in the third quarter under Jericho Cruz’s leadership, cutting the deficit to single digits at times. But Brownlee’s timely three-pointer, followed by a mini 7-1 rally spearheaded with Newsome, extended Gilas Pilipinas’ lead to 72-55 by the end of the quarter.
Ramos and Quiambao then led the charge in the final minutes to close out a 24-point win, a solid follow-up to their 87-46 road triumph two nights earlier, keeping Gilas Pilipinas unbeaten in Group B.
