The King Crunchers endured the unrelenting pressure of a youthful and disciplined Japanese side, ultimately triumphing 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 22-20 to claim their first Invitational Conference championship.

Jude Garcia starred with 35 points, including a decisive hammer in the extended fifth set, while Haruka Misugi’s final swing sailed just long, giving the home side its moment of glory.
King Crunchers’ collective will defines the night
While Garcia delivered an awe-inspiring performance, the victory was a team effort. Nico Almendras and Poy Colinares each scored 15 points, and Noel Kampton added 13, including the critical equalizer at 20 in the decider.
Setter Adrian Villados orchestrated the offense with poise, finishing with 34 excellent sets and earning Finals MVP honors. “Ang ginawa ko lang talaga, perform every game, every training 100 percent,” said Villados, emphasizing trust in his teammates and coaching staff.
Criss Cross’s resilience shone through when Colinares was denied by Tohiro Shimomasu on Kindai’s sixth championship point. Kampton answered with veteran calm, Villados set Garcia for the go-ahead kill, and the King Crunchers sealed their first title in dramatic fashion.
Kindai’s challenge pushes champions to the brink
Kindai University nearly made history as the first guest team to win a Spikers’ Turf title. Haruka Misugi scored 27 points, Yoshiki Yasuda added 22, and Kentaro Hata and Nozomi Yamamoto contributed 16 and 10, showcasing their fearless approach.
The Japanese side fought with discipline and determination, forcing Criss Cross to dig deep at every turn. Yet the King Crunchers refused to bow, proving their mettle and securing a victory that erased years of near misses.
When the final ball went out, the arena erupted as Criss Cross celebrated its redemption and triumph. Against heartbreak, history, and a determined young squad, they emerged as the new champions of Spikers’ Turf.
