NBA Africa announces 10 finalists for Triple-Double Accelerator Demo Day in Rwanda

NBA Africa has revealed the 10 startups that will compete in the 2025 Triple-Double Accelerator, a program designed to support Africa’s growing tech and creative sectors. The finalists will pitch to global industry experts at Carnegie Mellon University Africa in Kigali, Rwanda, on Friday, Dec. 5.

The program, now in its second year, has added CMU-Africa as an official partner. The university, offering U.S.-accredited master’s degrees with full-time faculty in Africa, will provide access to its Business Incubation Program for the winning startups. ServiceNow and ALX Ventures continue as program partners, supporting early-stage African companies with mentorship and resources.

Startups aiming for funding and incubation

From more than 700 applicants, the following 10 startups were selected to compete for five spots in the 12-month incubation program:

  • Athlon Technology (Egypt): AI and mobile solutions for affordable sports video analysis.

  • Atsur (Nigeria): Blockchain platform for investing in African art and supporting creators.

  • CoLab (South Africa): Collaborative platform connecting creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals.

  • Contestify (Nigeria): Streamlined contest management with real-time judging and instant payouts.

  • Fitclan (Egypt): Flexible digital fitness hub for individuals and businesses.

  • Novate (Morocco): Virtual reality football experiences with interactive features and live stats.

  • ProPath Sports (Kenya): Data-driven athlete identification and development programs.

  • Reborn (Morocco): Performance analytics tools to optimize athletes’ physical and in-game performance.

  • Safia Health (Kenya): Integrated platform tracking fitness, recovery, and mental wellbeing.

  • SongDis (Nigeria): Digital music distribution and services tailored to African independent artists.

NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi praised the quality of applicants. “These startups show how innovation and creativity are driving Africa’s sports and creative industries,” she said. “Their ideas reflect the potential for solutions that can scale beyond borders.”

Last year, four startups—Festival Coins, Salubata, HustleSasa, and UBR VR—received funding and mentorship through the inaugural Triple-Double Accelerator.
