Alas Pilipinas’ stars Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons will headline the women’s division in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Beach Volleyball Invitational, which opens Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Nuvali Sand Courts in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Four Alas women’s teams are participating over the two-day tournament, providing critical preparation for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand next month.

Other Alas pairs include Alexa Polidario and Jenny Gaviola, Kly Orillaneda and Gen Eslapor, and Sunny Villapando and Dij Rodriguez. Rondina and Pons previously won the National Open last May with a thrilling 17-21, 21-16, 16-14 reverse sweep over Villapando and Rodriguez in an all-Alas final.
Heavyweights and rising stars set for clash
UST’s Sofiah Pagara and Khy Progella were last year’s champions and return to defend their title. Tiger Sands will be led by Cameron Villaruz and Lorie Gamboa, along with Cheng Dadang and Angelica Del Mar, while National University fields Vilmarie Toos and Laiza Benigay in the women’s division.
On the men’s side, Ranran Abdilla and James Buytrago headline three Alas teams. National team veterans Ronniel Rosales and Rancel Varga, alongside Edwin Tolentino and Lerrie Francisco, are also in contention. Buytrago won the National Open last May paired with Jude Garcia, defeating Rosales and Varga in another all-Alas final.

Other women’s entries include FEU’s Melody Pons and Lovely Lopez, La Salle’s Ela Raagas and Mica Buis, UP’s Jum Gayo and Kryssia Mae Omos, CSB’s Doreen Baguio and Shandara Baba, Cebu Spikers’ Liezl Dejan and Kizil Doren Quijote, and Beach Volleyball Manila’s Bea Tan and Euri Eslapor.
Men’s teams are completed by UST’s Aldwin Gupiteo and Lance Malinao, and Smaela Salon and Alijhan Apdian; Benilde’s Kevin Ondevilla and Mark June Rosales; La Salle’s Von Marata and Andraie Falsis; UP’s Angelo Lipata and Zedrick Calimlim; NU’s Kian Tan and Ethan Jadraque; and FEU’s Reynan Postorioso and Christian Paul Salboro. Pool play begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, semifinals at 10 a.m. Sunday, and medal matches start at 2 p.m.
