Las Vegas fell 10-7 to the Denver Broncos Thursday, November 8, struggling to generate offense after trading wide receiver Jakobi Meyers just a day earlier. Brock Bowers, who had caught three touchdowns against Jacksonville four days before, was held to a single 31-yard reception as Denver focused coverage on him.
Quarterback Geno Smith tried to spark the offense despite a thigh injury. The Raiders’ passing game relied on Tyler Lockett, Tre Tucker, rookie receivers Dont’e Thornton Jr. and Jack Bech, and tight end Michael Mayer, but consistency was lacking. Las Vegas endured a seven-drive stretch without a first down, showing the difficulty of moving the ball against Denver’s disciplined defense.

Offensive struggles and injury woes
Injuries on the offensive line worsened Las Vegas’ difficulties. Left tackle Kolton Miller is on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, while guards Jackson Powers-Johnson and Dylan Parham were sidelined. Denver recorded six sacks and limited running back Ashton Jeanty to just 60 yards on 19 carries.
Special teams missteps added to the woes. Kicker Daniel Carlson missed a 48-yard field goal in the closing moments, continuing a recent string of missed kicks. Despite the setbacks, Smith’s determination to play through injury highlighted his leadership and toughness.
Defense keeps Raiders in contention but offense fails to capitalize
The Raiders’ defense held Denver to 220 total yards and 10 first downs. The unit consistently created opportunities, but the offense could not convert field position into points.
With a mini bye before hosting the Dallas Cowboys Monday, November 17, the Raiders have a chance to regroup. Coaches will need to find ways to involve Bowers more, improve offensive line protection, and get other receivers engaged if Las Vegas hopes to improve in upcoming games. (AP)
