Thunder exploit Kings’ absences
The Thunder jumped to a 23-point lead and dominated inside, outscoring Sacramento 60-34 in the paint. Kings star Domantas Sabonis sat out his second straight game with sore ribs.
Sacramento’s Russell Westbrook, who spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Thunder and is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, had 24 points and nine assists against his former team.
Reverse of previous matchup
Oklahoma City also beat Sacramento 107-101 on Oct. 28 at home. In that matchup, the Kings had a healthy Sabonis, while the Thunder played without Chet Holmgren. This time, it was the opposite: Sabonis watched from the bench while Holmgren had 10 points and seven rebounds.
