American import Anna DeBeer has become the steady force powering ZUS Coffee to its best start in the Premier Volleyball League, combining leadership and scoring punch to keep the Thunderbelles undefeated in the 2025 Reinforced Conference.

The Kentucky-born spiker delivered another stellar performance to lead ZUS Coffee to a 4-0 mark in Pool B, capped by a convincing 25-22, 25-21, 25-20 sweep of Petro Gazz at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

DeBeer finished with a match-high 23 points in the win, a performance that earned her the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for October 28 to 31. The 24-year-old outside hitter has repeatedly emphasized the Thunderbelles’ championship goal — and right now, they look every bit like contenders.

DeBeer embraces leadership role as Thunderbelles stay perfect

DeBeer credited ZUS Coffee’s success to the organization’s collective effort, praising the supportive staff and competitive training environment. She also welcomed the challenge of being among the shorter imports, carrying a “height doesn’t matter” mindset honed during her NCAA Division I career at Louisville.

Consistent effort, film study, and game-to-game improvement have been her priorities as she continues to elevate ZUS Coffee’s confidence and chemistry. Her approach has helped the Thunderbelles’ roster rise to the moment, with players feeding off her poise and intensity.

Yee lauds import’s impact as ZUS eyes strong pool finish

Head coach Jerry Yee applauded DeBeer’s presence, noting how her reliability boosts the team’s confidence and brings out the best in her teammates. With ZUS Coffee still unbeaten, the Thunderbelles are set to close their pool play against Akari at the Mall of Asia Arena — a rematch of their nullified opening match.
