PLDT refused to leave any room for drama in the final stretch of Pool A, sweeping Nxled, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20, to finish on top of the group with authority in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Savannah Davison made sure the High Speed Hitters ended the round with momentum, torching the Chameleons for 19 points built on 14 attacks, three blocks, and two aces. PLDT closes strong, controls Pool A race

PLDT wrapped up Pool A at 4-1, edging Farm Fresh for the top seed via superior set ratio as they carried their late-round surge into the crossover phase. Russian reinforcement Anastasiia Bavykina added 10 points and nine receptions, while Dell Palomata chipped in seven markers as PLDT held firm and kept Nxled winless.

Head coach Rald Ricafort praised his squad for addressing previous lapses, stressing focus and patience in neutralizing Nxled’s import-driven attack. The High Speed Hitters took advantage of 24 Chameleons errors to pull away in key stretches and complete the one-hour, 31-minute sweep.

Nxled faces must-win scenario after winless run

Despite 29 points from Spanish import Paola Martinez, Nxled continued to struggle for support with no other player cracking double figures. The Chameleons closed Pool A at 0-5 and now enter Pool C needing perfection to stay alive in the quarterfinal race. Chiara Permentilla had seven points, while Krich Macaslang, Mayang Nuique, and Lyann De Guzman scored three each.
